When Young People Create Their Own Tools to Talk About Sexuality

Talking about the body, puberty, sexuality, or reproductive health can still be difficult. To facilitate dialogue, the young people involvedin the project are developing participatory resources that allow these topics to be addressed in a different way.

« Unlock Your Body» is a board game series consisting of several formats, including Body Race, Body Link, and Body Decode. Participants answer questions, take on challenges, or draw on their knowledge about the body and sexual and reproductive health.

The questions cover topics such as changes related to puberty, anatomy, menstruation, contraception, and reproductive health.

Empowering Young People to Have Their Voices Heard

This initiative is part of a broader movement led by students at theHanoi National University of Education. Through the Sẽ Talk micro-project, the group is working to promote dialogue about sexual and reproductive health, to better understand sexual violence, and to raise awareness about consent.

The project notably led to an online writing contest,online writing contest, SẼ STORY, which received 39 submissions, as well as a workshop on consent, attended by 26 participants.

For Dương Minh Lam, project manager of Sẽ Talk, this initiative provided an opportunity to reflect on sexual and reproductive health issues, engage with experts, and propose solutions from the perspective of young people.

Through these initiatives, the goal is also to create spaces where young people can talk about sexuality with greater confidence and help shape the conversation on these topics themselves.

Through the PADSSR project, BATIK International and its partners are supporting initiatives that empower young people to take an active role in their own awareness-raising.
