Evaluation of international actions run by the Water Department of the Greater Lyon Urban Community and Prospects (2008)
Within the framework of contractorship assistance for the engineering of Greater Lyon’s decentralized cooperation projects (of the Greater Lyon) (see the hyperlink), BATIK International piloted, in 2008, the implementation of an evaluation of international actions run by the Greater Lyon Urban Community Water Department and at defining the evolution and development prospects of these actions.
The Greater Lyon Water Department runs international actions within the framework of two different but complementary systems: the Water Solidarity Fund and the decentralized cooperation programs. The work run by BATIK International aimed to suppplement the quantitative and qualitative elements of analysis which were available for each action through a consolidated global view of the results of these international actions in order to:
- know to what extent the actions carried out and the tools developed were consistent with the political objectives chosen by the official mandate in terms of international solidarity, sustainable development, international influence, etc
- develop suggestions for the next mandate, directions to implement effective cooperation based on thoughtful consideration of these program beneficiaries’ expectations.
