To promote the social and professional inclusion of vulnerable people in the north and south and help fight inequality and poverty.
BATIK International designs and manages international employment, vocational training and business start-up projects. The organisation is focused on strengthening links between Europe, East Asia and the Mediterranean region, via the initiatives (training, studies, evaluations and technical support) that it develops in partnership with local stakeholders (NGOs, local authorities and businesses).
Projects in the north and south aim to:
- Promote the social inclusion of disadvantaged and unemployed people via vocational training and by boosting skills.
- Encourage international mobility, particularly of vulnerable people, in order to develop and boost their skills in an innovative fashion while offering them new career opportunities.
- Support the creation of income generating activities by developing support schemes that are tailored to the profiles and needs of beneficiaries.
- Protect and develop traditional trades and expertise that are under threat via south – north and south – south trade.
- Improve knowledge and the integration in France of the diaspora from countries targeted by the organisation by running remembrance and identity issues projects while supporting the setting-up of skills networks and boosting skills.
