Fashion: exchanges and partnerships in Vietnam

Teaching partenership between two French and Vietnamese dressmaking training institutions (2008)

The project was run by GRETA de la Mode in Paris and aimed to meet the growing need for advanced skills in the fashion industry design and manufacturing sector and to remedy the current shortage of quality training providers in this sector in Hanoi (Vietnam). A teaching partnership was set up between GRETA de la Mode and a training institution in Hanoi and a first fashion show was organised as part of Hanoi’s millennium celebrations in 2010.

Batik International carried out a study of fashion industry training provision in Hanoi, organised a GRETA de la Mode feasibility study in Hanoi and prepared the first training workshop led by Marion Trouillot from GRETA for young Vietnamese fashion design students from FADIN in Hanoi.

The project was supported by the Paris Region Council as part of its decentralised cooperation agreement with the Hanoi Popular Committee.
